This morning, reports started coming in of attacks by Joseph Kony’s LRA rebels in South Sudan. The reports are preliminary and have yet to be officially confirmed. We are following up for more information. The following was obtained through Invisible Children and on-the-ground partners:

Nov 5 – LRA forces attacked people in Nabaria, South Sudan (A on the map). One man was killed, an estimated six men and three women abducted, and food was looted. A local militia group known as the Arrow Boys pursued the assailants. The six abducted men were released shortly thereafter, but it is unknown what became of the three abducted women.

Nov 7 – LRA forces attacked Ezo, South Sudan (B on the map), and abducted at least three people. The assailants also set fire to multiple houses and looted various unspecified goods from the town. Of the three people they abducted, two were released, and one was killed in the forest.
