Calling all Miami/Fort Lauderdale supporters!
Tomorrow night, Blindfold Magazine is hosting an event that will be benefiting #zeroLRA. Our good friend Mike’s band Rescue Kid is playing and this is what he had to say about it.
“Over the years, I’ve met a lot of great people on my journey as a working musician. Some of the greatest I’ve met have been those associated with the non-profit organization Invisible Children. I first heard about IC about 5 years ago on Fall Out Boy’s “Believers Never Die” tour. Alex Collins and Leigh Klemmer were on the road with us supporting the cause, and hearing about their work and the great people behind it made me realize the power we have in helping others for the greater good. Since then, I have done multiple tours and events with the organization, including signed guitar giveaways, raffles, guitar lessons, and even helped sell their merch at select shows. If there’s anything I can do to help and give back to a community of fellow humans helping others, I will do it. Last month, my new band Rescue Kid was asked to play an event hosted by Blindfold Magazine, featuring Invisible Children and their campaign for #zeroLRA. We immediately jumped on the chance to perform at this event. All of the profits made from our merch merch sales will go towards their current #zeroLRA campaign. I’m really excited for this and I hope to see some friends supporting, as well as make new ones!!”
Our roadies will also be there doing a free screening as well as answering questions about the conflict. It is going to be an incredible night so be sure to come out if you are in the area.
