If there is one thing I have learned in my year at Invisible Children, it is that kindness is truly a lifestyle. It is the farthest thing from shocking for someone to bake cupcakes for the entire office or for a fellow intern to give you a ride to the airport. Here at Invisible Children, we truly believe that simple kindness can make all the difference.
Enter Erin Miller. Erin has been a staple in the Invisible Children office for the last three years. She has been an intern, a roadie (four times over), and a Fourth Estate Leadership Summit event planner– just to name a few roles. But recently, she has inspired us a little more than usual.
Erin sent the hashtag #deliberatelykind out into cyberspace with the thought that if ten of her friends did a random act of kindness and asked two of their friends to do one too, that it would make a difference in their friend’s lives. And boy, was she right.
Below are a few of our favorite #deliberatelykind posts and the kindness ripple effect they created.
These are just a few of the now 100+ posts that have been making days brighter for the last two weeks. We want to include you (yes, you) in the challenge to be #deliberatelykind. Participate in a random act of kindness, post it to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, and make sure to challenge at least two of your friends and family as well.
