Take a Legacy Scholarship Program graduate, a liberal arts university in the United States and a nonprofit organization working to bring an end to LRA atrocities in East and central Africa. Invisible Children meets Franklin College.
We could not be prouder of our connection with the college – from Roadie visits and screenings on their campus, their own visits to our office in Gulu and around the country of Uganda, and their support of Okello Sunday, who recently finished his freshman year at the school after receiving a scholarship. Sunday, an Legacy Scholarship Program graduate and focus of one of our bracelet videos, is pursuing the pre-med track and on his way to becoming a doctor.
Last week, Invisible Children Uganda welcomed a team of visitors from the university including Doug Grant, Director of Civic Engagement, Keri Ellington, the instructor for a course at Franklin College focused on leadership in Uganda and Jennifer Cataldi, the school’s Director of Global Education.
They visited with members of our communications team and Richard Mark, Sunday’s mentor at Invisible Children Uganda. We felt lucky to welcome Doug, Keri and Jennifer to our office during their whirlwind of a visit to Uganda. While we are lucky enough to have so many supporters from across the world, we are always especially excited to meet these wonderful partners face-to-face.
