Flannel. Denim. Cuffed pants. Mason jars.
What do all of these things have in common, you ask? Simple: if you are seeing all of these items, you have likely laid eyes on a fascinating breed of individual – the Invisible Children team member.
Step into our office on any given day and you’re likely to notice a few things. First and foremost, a colorful sea of flannel shirts. From burgundy to mustard yellow, forest green to deep gray, our staffers don’t feel truly dressed until they’re swaddled in varying degrees of plaid. Throw on a denim vest (for special occasions), and they’re good to go.
Secondly, they have perfected the fine art of pant cuffing. No one – I repeat, NO ONE – in our office ever wears pants that reach the ground. Oh no. You could say they’re perpetually prepared for a flood….but how else would they be able to showcase their beautiful Adibo boots?
And let us not forget about the mason jars. Or better yet, the leather koozie mason jars. Nine out of ten IC staffers can be seen clutching one of these at any given moment. There’s no better way to aggressively hydrate throughout the day. After all, water is important.
If you’re really lucky, you might also spot such unique items as a rare, sold-out Giving Keys necklace or a handmade Mend bag. What can we say? We’re all about accessorizing. Especially when it supports our friends in Uganda.
It’s been said that all Invisible Children staffers start to look similar over time, but we think that’s silly. We can’t help it if we all just HAPPEN to like the same things.
Think people should hear about this?
