As we head into a new year, our President and CEO, Lisa Dougan, invites you to join us in honoring a very special person we lost in 2016.

Father Benoit Kinalegu was a close friend to me and our entire Invisible Children family and inspired so much of our work. He dedicated his life to pursuing justice and peace for communities in central Africa and was the visionary behind Invisible Children’s Early Warning Radio Network.

Father Benoit passed away on April 8, 2016. Though his life ended, his work is far from finished. As we step into 2017, we are determined to carry that work forward and we invite you to join us.

Watch this short video about how Father Benoit’s life and work have made thousands of families safer and continues to encourage me to continue fighting for peace in central Africa.

Since 2010, our Invisible Children team has worked hand-in-hand with Father Benoit’s organization, Commission Diocésaine pour la Justice et la Paix (CDJP) to expand the Early Warning Radio Network to reach as many communities as possible. Today, that network reaches thousands of central African families, allowing them to share life-saving information with each other and make their communities safer.

We’ve made incredible progress toward Father Benoit’s dream for peace, but our work is not done. With your support, we can continue to expand programs like the Early Warning Radio Network to some of central Africa’s most remote and insecure communities, where children and families are targeted daily by violent attacks and have no way to call for help.

We won’t stop until Father Benoit’s vision for peace has become a reality and I hope you will join us.

Our Liberty is Bound Together,

Lisa Dougan
President & CEO
