This week’s mixtape curator shouldn’t need an introduction because hopefully you’re already stalking his every social media move, right? Good.

Alex Naser-Hall: Roadie, intern, NYC Street Team and currently working on his reality TV star status. Naser-Hall is on of those people who’s taste is impeccable. He’ll usually show me a band or a label, I’ll give it a few listens, start to love, and then the rest of the world catches up 3 months later. Keep an eye Naser-Hall and keep up with good tunes.

Don’t forget to support the bands on here. Music is powerful and we need to make sure that the artists making it can continue making it. Cheers!

Monday Mini Mixtape 13 Cover The Night

Hello, hello.  I write this to you from a Cover The Night-induced coma.  Things were absolutely insane here in New York City, and I could not be more proud of the team that helped us pull it off.  And I could not be more proud of the whole Invisible Children community around the world.  This mix is a gift to you.  All new, and all on constant repeat in my apartment.  Cohesion isn’t my thing, so not many of these songs will fit on a nice party mix unless you just title it “Good Music.”

Get it here, GrooveShark and/or on Spotify.

01. JAI PAUL // “Jasmine” : The subtle build of this song is other-worldly.  Listening to this just makes you feel cool.  You’ll get what I mean 3/4th through.
02. ALEX WINSTON // “Host” : Strangest lyricist in the game – in the best way possible.  Ultra-poppy and inventive.  SO psyched to finally be seeing her tomorrow at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.
03. OBERHOFER // “Landline” : Oberhofer’s debut is filled with infectious rock tunes like this.  Good subway music.  As in, public transport – not the sandwich establishment.
04. DAVID GUETTA & SIA // “Titanium” : All I listened to last week.  I don’t believe in selling out, so I am LOVING the chance to hear Sia’s voice all up on the radio these days.
05. M. WARD // “Me And My Shadow” : M. Ward’s albums are always filled with impeccable jams.  You can hear She & Him bandmate Zooey Deschanel backing on this track.
06. MARINA & THE DIAMONDS // “Primadonna” : My excitement for Marina’s second album Electra Heart cannot be contained.  Best pop in the game.  The video for this song is actually perfect.  I’m geeking out.
07. FIONA APPLE // “Every Single Night” : Fiona’s been out for a good seven years, but she returned this morning with this one – oscillating from haunting fragility to complete defiance.  You know, the usual.
08. USHER // “Climax (Flosstradamus & Diplo Remix)” : Never would I think that Usher would have one of the hottest songs of 2012.  Alas.  And throwing Flosstradamus and Diplo on top?  Next level.
09. MAJOR LAZER & AMBER COFFMAN // “Get Free” : Speaking of Diplo, his collab project with Switch dropped this summery song this week with lead vocals from Dirty Projectors’ Amber Coffman.
10. MISSY HIGGINS // ‘Unashamed Desires” : The week of comebacks, apparently.  Australian singer/songwriter Missy Higgins breaks her five year silence with this track.  If you know Missy’s earlier work, prepare for a new sound.  Stoked on her new project.
