LIFE SOUNDTRACK:

Delta Spirit: Ode to Sunshine

In the first two months of 2009, part of the IC Music crew jumped on the road with Delta Spirit, Dawes, and Other Lives. It was a tour that would span over 10,000 miles in a 12-passenger van with a very failing transmission. We were all fighting some form/forms of influenza the entire time… likely due to the fact that we slept IN the van during some of the coldest parts of the country at the coldest points in the year. Who’s to say really. I’m not going to say that we didn’t resort to chopping wood to burn during one of the shows in Idaho, but I’m not going to say we did either. It was an adventure. And I loved every second. Ode to Sunshine was the record being performed nightly by the headliner Delta Spirit, and every day while we prepared to drive an average of seven hours overnight, we still decided that we should listen to Ode to Sunshine, even after seeing it live for probably the 30th time.
