At this year’s Fourth Estate Summit, you can can learn about and connect with 40+ top brands at the Common Good Exchange. These organizations are championing social change around the world through a mix of passion, innovation, and global consciousness.

One of those organizations is Girl Up, a campaign of the United Nations Foundation that aims to give American girls a platform to become global leaders. Speaking on behalf of over 600 million adolescent girls living in developing countries, these young women are often prevented from reaching their full potential due to external factors, like being unable to go to school or see a doctor.

Girl Up

Girl Up believes that this generation of American girls are the bright and passionate individuals who are ready to get involved and tackle these issues head on. Their mission involves raising awareness and funds for the United Nations programs that help other young women, often in the hardest to reach areas around the globe.

“Girl Up envisions a world where all girls, no matter where they live, have the opportunity to become educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be the next generation of leaders.”

There are a number of ways to get involved with the movement. Individuals are invited to fund raise, advocate to politicians, and simply spread the word through avenues like social media pages.
