Sometimes, the only way to improve something amazing is to double it. We’ve all seen the evidence: Sister Act 2. The double rainbow. Ananda Robie (did you know she’s a twin?). Well now we can add #GivingTuesday to the list.

Here’s the deal: #GivingTuesday, an entire day dedicated to generosity and giving back, is only one week away. We can all agree that #GivingTuesday is amazing all by itself. But this year, one very generous Invisible Children supporter is making it even better by matching every dollar donated up to $10,000. That means, starting today through #GivingTuesday (December 1st), your gift to Invisible Children will have double the impact for communities in central Africa affected by Joseph Kony’s violence. Keep reading, it gets even better.

DONATE TODAY AND DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT

Our #GivingTuesday goal is to raise $10,000. That will enable us to expand our Early Warning Radio Network into two more central African communities targeted by the violence of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).

We specifically plan to expand the Early Warning Network into two communities surrounding Garamba National Park, which is located in northeastern DR Congo, and borders South Sudan. Garamba Park and the towns that surround it have been, and continue to be, targets of LRA violence — and not only violence against humans. There has been mounting evidence that Kony has been ordering his fighters to kill endangered elephants in Garamba so that he can sell their ivory tusks for weapons and other supplies that help fuel more violence.

So here’s where we double down again: By connecting these two new communities near Garamba Park into the Early Warning Network, we are reducing LRA violence on two fronts. We’re are helping to save human lives by increasing their protection from LRA attacks, and we give these communities the chance to play a key role in global efforts to stop the LRA from killing endangered elephants.

By our calculations, that’s a win-win-win-win….which equates to a no-brainer. #Math

With your support, we have accomplished more in 2015 than we ever thought possible. But our work is not done, and we have BIG plans for 2016. We can’t do it without you, so please continue to stand with us and consider making a #GivingTuesday contribution today.

Any money raised beyond our $10,000 #GivingTuesday goal will help us strengthen and expand our other critical programs in central Africa. So we’ll end this little party by giving you a quick glance at some of the other exciting work we are doing thanks to your support, hand-in-hand with our incredible partners in central Africa.

With double helping of thanks,
Invisible Children

SUPPORTING FORMER LRA CAPTIVES
We work with community partners in Central African Republic to provide children and women returning from LRA captivity with the immediate assistance, trauma healing support, and vocational training they need to recover and restart their lives.

COMMUNITY PEACE COMMITTEES
This year, we launched an exciting new ‘Peace Committee’ program in Central African Republic, which provides communities with the training and support they need to be central agents of peace and reconciliation in the face of violent conflict. We have already established five Peace Committees in CAR and we’re excited to keep going with your support.
